Typical "friends only" type post
Pretend there's some awesome banner of a sex godess, me flicking you off, a piece of shit floating in a toilet or whatever you want, but this is it.

My journal is now and shall forever remain friends only. Don't bother adding me if you don't bother to comment. I will notice, but I'll ignore you until I'm annoyed with seeing your name on my hidden friends of list, at which point in time I will just flat out ban you without asking any questions and poof you go.

It is a well documented fact that I dispise menthols and truly believe that they lead to things that will induce the rapture. I really do believe that they lead to virgin sacrifices, drinking of goats blood, and other highly satanic rituals as such.

The only issue with the above statement is that I don't believe in Satan, but if he exists, menthols I'm sure are on the path towards him.

Hi. I comment when I have something to say, which is almost always. And I don't smoke menthols. My journal is pretty bland, but I'm not looking for people to read and comment on mine. I'm just looking for better journals to read.

I rarely post nowadays cause I work stupid hours and spend the rest of my time playing darts and drinking, but meh. It's all good.

I wish I could be so strident about people not commenting. Like, "Comment or get lost." I'm such an infrequent commenter myself (it's a rare journal I make comments on with any frequency, even if I read it all the time) that I tend to let it go when there is a lack of comments on mine in return. But...

I dunno...I figure the more the merrier, so I add people back pretty indiscriminately (since no one ever gives a reason for adding me). I usually come to find out later they liked my writing or my other blog or we both live in the same state, or whatever, but I'm not concerned why they added me regardless of whether they ever explain it or not. It's fun to have more people to hang out with online so I'm pretty laid back about it. The only times I get persnickety are:

1) People add me then keep their journal filtered against me so I never see their posts (happens more times than I can count and it's a sneaky, rotten thing to do, since they can see what I write, and write their own crap about it on their journal if they want, but I can't read their journal, so I have no way of seeing or responding to it), plus it completely shuts me out of whatever they write about besides me.

2) They never, ever update, period (somewhat overlaps with reason #1).

3) The journal only exists to spam, and/or only exists to spam-add for the sake of the person's ego.

4) The journal exists only to promote explicit sexual content and images and/or solely to discuss and delight in death/suicide/gothicness - that just creeps me out.

Outside of those boundaries I have almost none at all. I guess that's why my hackles always go up when someone can't understand why I have added them and throws a fit about it. I'm just looking for people to share stuff with online. That's it. I don't have to know you to feel OK doing that, but to judge by the severity of some people's reactions to being added by me, yeah, I guess I do have to know you after all.

I don't think I'll hang around LJ much longer, anyway. I've been here since 2005. I used to have a tight circle of friends here that I could share almost anything with; it's broken up, though; I'm bored; I think I've pushed both journals as far as I'm willing to go with them without more people who seem to care to share them with me.

Now now, let me clarify.

Somehow or another I have become an easily added person by bots. I have no clue why but of the last 100 or so people that have added me probably 85% of them have been by the bots that just randomly pick people, and of that 85% at least 80% of them have been Russian journals. Sorry, but I don't read Russian so I have no idea what you're saying.

With all of this sad I am certainly not opposed to new people coming into my life/journal. In fact I love meeting new people. It's fun! I just expect a certain level of interest to be peeked when one comes around and says "ooooo! I like that person ergo, I think I'll add them!" But if I have no idea who you are or where you're from I'm not exactly going to go about hunting around for you.

In your instance I do happen to know where you came from and as I said I like meeting new people. It is terribly fun. And I'll be more than happy to add you as #1 you seem like you have an ability to write which proves to me that you're smarter than the standard idiot with a computer.

#2 Livejournal seems to have turned into a graveyard of "updated by livetwitter posts" for me lately. It's sad as I've had an lj since around '01 and I've met some truly awesome folks over the years via lj. Yes, I'm on Facebook and I enjoy it, but that's a social networking website. This is a journal. This is meant to be written in.

And with all of this huff puff if you'd like to be friends, I'd love to meet someone new. Hell you might even be close to where I'm moving soon! Who knows!

I had a spammer add me just last week ("Jessica") but LJ suspended her account before I could even find her comments on my journal (about two hours after she left them). They even deleted her comments from my journal for me. I felt so special.

I have one LJ friend who is bright and funny when you can pull him off of Twitter - which unfortunately is no more than once or twice a year - and I have to make one hell of a salacious post (something inflammatory about Microsoft usually does it) to get him to even look.

Well, to sum up I've been pretty fascinated by your LJ user info since the day I stumbled upon you around here...you seem to have exactly the way about you that I like. Thanks for adding me - adding you back as soon as I post this. :)
